Using Google for Education in a Secondary School Setting? Join us for a series of online webinars are for teachers who are using G Suite and Google Classroom. These interactive sessions are delivered via Google Meet. You can book and individual webinar or join us for all nine sessions. All of the webinars are recorded and video access will be available for any sessions that attendees have missed. 

Using Google for Education in Secondary - Geography

Monday 8th June

Join Andrew Caffrey to explore the use of Google for Education (G Suite) to teach Geography. Andrew will be sharing tips and tools that you can easily use in your lessons when delivering remote or blended learning to students. 

 

Andrew is a Google Certified Innovator and Trainer and the Regional Director for EdTechTeam in the UK.  A former Assistant Headteacher, Geography Teacher and SLE at a Google for Education Reference School, Andrew received an Inspirational Educator Award from the Worshipful Company of Educators in 2016. Occasionally he builds something useful, such as the popular Add to Google Classroom Chrome Extension. Andrew is also the Volunteer Head of  Compliance at The Scout Association.

Using Google for Education in Secondary - PSHE

Join Laura White to explore the use of Google for Education (G Suite) to teach PSHE. Laura will be sharing tips and tools that you can easily use in your lessons when delivering remote or blended learning to students. 

Laura is a Google Certified Innovator and Trainer, BETT Speaker, and full time secondary school teacher. She leads on Digital Learning in a 3-18 selective independent school working primarily with iPads and GSuite. She is also a part-time Doctoral Research student at the Institute of Education researching the overlap between Digital Learning and Thinking Skills. Laura has been teaching for 12 years and is passionate about the potential for digital tools to impact positively on teaching and learning.

Join Emma Ferris to explore the use of Google for Education (G Suite) to teach MFL. Emma will be sharing tips and tools that you can easily use in your lessons when delivering remote or blended learning to students. 

Emma is a full time teacher of Modern Foreign Languages at a Google Reference School in Hertfordshire. She quickly embraced G Suite and chromebooks when a one-to-one chromebook scheme was introduced and is now a Google Certified Trainer. In addition she has the role of "Google Leader", leading staff and student training in the use of G Suite and chromebooks. She is excited by the opportunities education technology can offer.

Join Jonathan So to explore the use of Google for Education (G Suite) to teach Mathematics. Jonathan will be sharing tips and tools that you can easily use in your lessons when delivering remote or blended learning to students. 

Jonathan is currently a Resource Teacher for the Peel District School Board in Canada. Jonathan has taught Primary for two years and Junior for ten years. He has been called many names: Daddy, Daddio, Dada, Jon, JoSo and some others that cannot be repeated. He is an avid runner, lover of bowties and so much more. Jonathan believes that the teacher has one of the most critical roles to play in child development. Through questions, inquiry and exploration teachers can and will push students to unforeseen expectations. His passions lie in being the best teacher he can be, teaching mathematics and technology, and assessment. Jonathan also enjoys teaching through inquiry and watching the powerful impact it has on student growth and conceptual development.

Join Steven Hope to explore the use of Google for Education (G Suite) to teach PE. Steven will be sharing tips and tools that you can easily use in your lessons when delivering remote or blended learning to students. 

 

Steven is a Google Trainer and Innovator. Steven has been the Head of Independent Learning for Leeds City College and the colleges in the Luminate Education Group (Including Harrogate and Keighley) a post which he has held since August 2018. Prior to this Steven was the Technology Enhanced Learning manager for Leeds City College, and prior to this has 12 years experience in teaching sport and PE. Steven’s current role one focus is to increase staff and learners use of technology and their digital capabilities, this being no mean feat with over 1000 staff and 20000 learners at the colleges. Steven is a chair of governors at a primary school and before this was a governor at a secondary school in Leeds. Steven has worked as a standards verifier for BTEC for many years. Steven is co-host of the Edufuturists podcast.

Join Paul Farrell to explore the use of Google for Education (G Suite) to teach Music. Paul will be sharing tips and tools that you can easily use in your lessons when delivering remote or blended learning to students. 

 

Paul worked for 23 years in the classroom, teaching Music, Drama, Dance and towards the end of his teaching career he taught ICT and Computing. From 2002 to 2010 Paul worked for local authorities across the country supporting the Government sponsored Secondary Strategy and consulted on the 1999 version of The National Curriculum for ICT with QCDA. He now works for C-Learning as the Consultancy and training manager and helps schools adopt a cloud-first approach to their educational technology. Paul also works for The Cambridge Partnership as a subject tutor for music, training secondary music teachers.

Join Ben Whitaker to explore the use of Google for Education (G Suite) to teach RE. Ben will be sharing tips and tools that you can easily use in your lessons when delivering remote or blended learning to students. 

 

Ben is a Google Certified Trainer & Innovator who delivers training across the UK and Europe on behalf of a number of providers. In June 2019, he was appointed as a Curriculum Manager at Burnley College after working as Chief Education Officer for Project Digital, a dynamic partnership between Burnley College and +24 Marketing to deliver digital apprenticeships in the North West. Their aim is simple: to plug the digital skills gap. Ben was previously Assistant Principal: Head of Sixth Form, having taught Religious Studies & Sociology for 12 years. He is an experienced examiner for four of the main examination boards and writes articles across the education spectrum. Ben is co-host of the Edufuturists podcast. One of his proudest achievements  is that he trained his own parents on GSuite and they actively use this in their own classroom practice.

Eric Cross is a 7th-grade science/technology teacher in the US, grade level lead, and ed tech trainer for Albert Einstein Academies, International Baccalaureate schools in San Diego, CA. Eric earned a B.S. from Azusa Pacific University and M.Ed from the University of San Diego. He brings 16 years of experience working with at-risk youth and underserved populations before becoming a middle school teacher. By building relationships with students, colleagues, and the community, he has become an empowered leader in and out of the classroom. Through his meaningful learning experiences centered around student agency, STEM has become accessible to all students through engagement, thoughtful integration of digital tools, and culturally relevant pedagogy.
